ratpig is a lo-fi EP if and it recorded on Oct 29, 2011 in a small New Hampshire cabin located in the foothills of the white mountains.
local folklore holds this area as the one and only home of the elusive ratpig. perhaps the only area on earth that could give shelter to such a reckless and bizarre animal.
most locals do not believe the ratpig is real. most don't even know the ratpig folklore. However some will attest to the ratpigs hardy appearence, pig-like body, rat-like nose, and siren-like screech. those few who do believe in the ratpig are still divided on whether it is a dangerous creature or if it acts as a guardian over the area and those who live there. some legends portray the ratpig with menacing black eyes, others with a distinct heart of gold.
"ratpigs are solitary animals." explains Tim Walker. "that's why most people have never heard of them."
while on lake wentworth we never saw the elusive ratpig. We never even heard the sound of the ratpig. but we were tormented by his presence.
